Here is a little bit about me….
Why did you start this blog?
I started this blog as a creative outlet for myself. I wanted a space that was all my own where I could create and explore and grow. Its now slowly becoming a place to show people you can have high fashion style without the high fashion budget. The first time I thrifted my first high end designer, I was hooked! There is no need to spend a fortune on big labels like DVF, St. John and Ralph Lauren because if you’re willing to treasure hunt you can have these labels in your closet.
How would you describe your personal style?
I don’t have set personal style. My style is like my mood, it changes and often lol. I love to mix styles; glam with sporty; vintage with modern; boho with classics. I love to play with textures, shapes, colors and patterns. I guess my personal style is how I am feeling on any given day.
What is your favorite item in your closet?
I would have to say my vintage dress collection; I love how timeless these dresses are. I have a few dress from the 1930’s and they look just as modern as anything you see today.
Where is your favorite place to shop?
The GOODWILL!!! This place literally get all of my money lol! Its like a treasure hunt, you search racks and racks of clothes and then you stumble upon this great piece you have to have. Most of the pieces in my closet are Goodwill or thrift store finds and believe it or not, they are my best pieces! I have a Coach bag that I found for $3 bucks for and retails on the Coach site for $297!!
Why did you name your blog Minnie Rose?
My blog is named for my late grandmother Minnie Lee Rose. I have just vague memories of her, she passed when I was about 8 or 9. The things I do remember are her laugh and smile, they were infectious! I like to think she was this uber stylish woman who was the epitome of old school glamour and imagine when I would go and visit her she would let me play dress up in her closet, jewelry box and make up. I guess this blog is my way of doing that with her, plus her name is super cute!
